In case I haven't fully hammered home my point about JD Advantage jobs in previous posts here and here, here's a plot of law school unemployment rate versus percentage of jobs that are JD Advantage jobs. Large numbers of JD Advantage jobs are a very bad sign for the placement prospects of a law school, yet they are counted the same as attorney jobs by US News. Not only are JD Advantage jobs generally bad outcomes, they are also highly manipulable, which is a pernicious combination for rankings purposes.
